The governance agenda

Maintaining control of website quality and brand message across a multi-site, multi-editor environment can be challenging in the extreme.

Good governance, effective website standards, monitoring and measuring are all essential requirements to achieving this, particularly within a devolved web publishing environment.

This session is a valuable opportunity to learn effective strategies for global website governance from two companies from different industries but a similar challenge: how to manage a complex international web estate.

  • Bupa: Mark Newson, Head of Web Strategy and Marketing, will reveal the thinking behind Bupa's latest website restructure, and the new governance framework and standards they are putting in place to support devolved publication.
  • Shell: Simon Saville, Head of Web Communications, will describe the challenges encountered and insights gained, in their evolving approach to website governance.

Both companies are aiming to take the governance of their websites to a new level.

In addition, Simon Lande, CEO Magus, will demonstrate how leading companies are harnessing automated compliance monitoring to underpin their governance programs: minimising risk, maximising website effectiveness, and providing the hard facts managers need to optimise their online operations.

What you will learn

  • Getting the right balance between central vs local control: the risks and rewards of devolved publishing.
  • How other companies are doing it: case studies from Bupa and Shell.
  • How to optimise your approach to website governance and maintain quality and compliance on a day-to-day basis.
  • How to use automated monitoring to inform governance and maximise website effectiveness.

Demonstrations of Magus ActiveStandards will be available, illustrating the power of automated standards monitoring to deliver optimum levels of compliance.
